Add this to your binge list: Fisk (2 seasons) -- quirky (in the best, not cliche sense of the word), Australian, delightful. The first episode isn't great but the rest of the show is! On Netflix.

Ohhh I hope you feel better soon! Loved this piece.

I'm a total freak for Christmas but even remotely religious. For me the holiday is about the celebration, the lights, the tree, the traditions, being with friends, going to special types of events (we're doing the Mount Auburn Solstice lights tonight!), and well, that week off from work is pretty nice on top of it all.

Sending you healing {{{{{vibes}}}}}!

I especially love how you ended this, Randy. Perfect.

(P.S. I still have Hanukkah envy--you've done nothing to cure me of that.)

I liked it. Honest, warm, thoughtful. My parents were in the florist business and Christmas was critical to a good year. Prior to college, I worked 17-20 hours every day leading up to the 25th. I remembered it as a plus, for busy Xmas had my parents happy. I remember reading that an employee of the CBS another was he sure Paley, the CEO was Jewish, "because he sure loved Christmas."
