Dear Congress, Please Write to Us!

It would be the perfect present for Lincoln's Birthday.

Dear Congresspeople,

America is having a bit of a difficult time, eh? Your constituents are terrified.

Me? I've called. I've written. I've been polite.

We in your districts are waiting for your letter. Your emails.

Even the Pope is decrying the inhumane policies of Trump and Musk.

Do you know what would be genuinely outstanding from Members of Congress right now? A letter. An update. I know you have my email and mailing address in your donation file.

Here's my request: separate from your fundraising pleas, send an update. Reassure us, or at least tell us what’s going on.

Tell us what you're doing to uphold the separation of church and state. To defend the rights of all citizens—including birthright citizens. To ensure the humane treatment of immigrants. To safeguard diversity and inclusion. To protect our LGBQT family, friends, and neighbors. To protect Congressional authority over funding. To defend the free press.

To protect knowledge. Science. Research.

To protect our climate.

We’re desperate for leadership, clarity, and courage.

Please give us a window into the soul of Congress.
